Adopt A Work of Art Program
In 2004, the Saginaw Art Museum established the Adopt A Work of Art program. Through this program donors are able to "adopt" objects in the Permanent Collection of the Museum that have been identified as requiring conservation or framing. Years of excessive sunlight, poor handling, and other factors have caused the surfaces of many objects to deteriorate and disfigure their appearance. These conditions can be remedied, however. If the Museum had the funds, it would send these objects to a professional conservation laboratory, where these would be restored to its original condition.
You Can Help. Please consider making a difference to the children and adults who visit this Museum by adopting a work of art. When an object is conserved and returned to the Museum, it will be reinstalled. Your name will appear on the object label as the donor of conservation or framing if you desire.
Objects that are in need of conservation and/or framing and that are currently on view in the Museum are identified by a Adopt A Work of Art label next to the object. For more information about the program or objects in need of conservation that are currently not on view, please contact the Museum at info@saginawartmuseum.org or (989) 754-2491.
The Saginaw Art Museum is a 501(c)(3) organization.
