CURRENT EXHIBITIONS
Lois Teicher's work consists of fabricated metal sculptures, which have been described as abstract reductive. These monochromatic works consist of forms reduced to essential, geometric shapes, utilizing modern materials and technology. This exhibition features major works created over 29 years including maquettes, photographs, and sketches by this living, Michigan artist and educator.
This exhibition presents a series of works, including sketches, studies, photographs and major works, created by native Saginaw artist, Eanger Irving Couse. The work has been selected from the Museum's permanent collection to demonstrate the artist's careful thought of the subject matter and methods in creating a final, larger canvas in his studio. The artist's passion for capturing the culture and lifestyle of the Native American is revealed in this exhibition. ARTS & LEARNING LUNCH & LECTURE SERIES Neil Davison, Safety in the Studio
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Bob Rohm’s fresh, informative workshops are an intensive period of work, study and fun. The Saginaw Art Museum is proud to welcome this gifted painter and instructor. Each day, Bob lectures and demonstrates for students. Topics include application of the medium to achieving clean color, good value relationships and balanced compositions. He works individually with each student and guides them at their own level and in their own style. Weather permitting, students will paint either in oil or pastel en plein air each day.
