A beginner’s workshop in watercolor.

AUGUST 17, 2024, 10-1 PM

Watercolor art is both delightful and distinctively expressive. This workshop offers an immersive experience, covering essential tools, materials, foundational color theory, techniques for color blending, effective moisture control, and beyond. Participants will explore nature-inspired subjects like plants and landscapes through hands-on projects that you can bring home.

This is a one-day class for adults (ages 18+).

Originally from Taiwan, Ju-Yu (Louise) Chen’s passion for painting began at a young age under the guidance of her mother, a skilled art teacher and professional watercolor artist. She pursued her master’s degree at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. With experience as a high school art teacher and Adjunct Faculty at Saginaw Valley State University, she nurtured her budding talents. For over 40 years, watercolor has been her beloved medium, offering endless joy and artistic fulfillment.
