The Color Purple
By Alice Walker
The Color Purple is the story of two sisters—one a missionary to Africa and the other a child wife living in the South—who remain loyal to one another across time, distance, and silence. Beautifully imagined and deeply compassionate, this classic of American literature is rich with passion, pain, inspiration, and an indomitable love of life.
The SAM Book Club meets on a monthly basis and is facilitated by Registrar & Programming Coordinator, Loissa Harrison-Parks. As meetings (5 pm-6:15 pm) are free to attend, we invite everyone to come and enjoy art-related conversation and complimentary wine and cheese in SAM’s Charles Platt Italianate Gardens, or Garden-View Room depending on season.
