3rd Annual Dia de Los Muertos Celebration
October 29 – November 5, 2022

Save the Date! We’ll be hosting the third annual Dia de Los Muertos celebration from October 29 – November 5 here at the Saginaw Art Museum! Details will be forthcoming including information about the program that is sure to include family ofrendas like in years past.

SCHEDULE
October 29, 2022 – Opening Day celebration Noon-5pm, (Free admission) 
Ofrenda displays, children’s activities courtesy of Creative 360 and Children’s Grief Center, Food available from Maria’s Mexican Restaurant

1pm: Screening of Michoacán to Michigan
Michoacán to Michigan is a compelling documentary telling the story of Valeriano and Martina Fraga’s journey from the Mexican city of Morelia, in the state of Michoacán, located in western Mexico to the “Thumb” area in the state of Michigan. In 1919, due to unrest and turmoil including serious personal threats, in Mexico during the period around the Mexican Revolution, they left their home country to seek safety and stability in America. 2019 marked the 100th anniversary of their family’s crossing. run time ~1hr / 

November 2-4, 2022– Ofrenda displays open, Noon-5pm (Free admission
November 5, 2022 – Ofrenda displays, Noon-5pm; Second Screening of Michoacán to Michigan at 1pm (Free admission)
