Thank you for your interest in becoming a museum tour guide. Tour guides lead students through the galleries, facilitating art discussion and activities. Teaching Artists stay in the studio leading a relevant art activity with students. Please review the required training dates below and register using the button below.
The training covers both positions, so you are prepared. However, when you sign up to work a field trip, you can sign up for your preference. The training will be capped at 5 participants. All sessions are required.
Training sessions:
Wednesday, January 10, 9:30-12:30 PM: Introduction to field trips, Go on a mock field trip.
Thursday, January 11, 9:30-12:30 PM: Review English Language Arts field trips and demo activities.
Wednesday, January 12, 9:30-12:30 PM: Review Visual Arts Tours and demo activities.
Wednesday, January 17, 9:30-12:30 PM: Participants give a practice tour.
Keep in mind since you are working with youth, you may be asked to undergo a safety screening by the museum at any time.
