It’s All Connected
Mark Piotrowski
January 22 – April 25, 2026

Mark Piotrowski’s work operates through clarity. He builds images by isolating essential visual relationships and letting them speak without distraction. Edges meet, curves swell or contract, and the composition finds its logic through tension and balance rather than narrative. His surfaces show an understanding that the simplest decisions can carry the strongest charge when handled with precision.

Piotrowski is attentive to how viewers move through an image. He gives the eye places to land, hesitate, and shift direction. The glossy enamel paint he uses adds another layer of complexity. Its hard finish catches light differently across the surface, making the work feel almost architectural even when the forms are rooted in natural, organic motion. Color acts as a structural force, shaping the atmosphere of each piece without overwhelming it.

His cut-out forms extend this practice. The objects do not sit passively on the wall. They shape the surrounding space, creating a subtle interplay between figure and void. Many of these contours echo the softer geometries found in nature: bends in water, slow arcs in landscapes, patterns that repeat without symmetry. By distilling these rhythms, Piotrowski offers concentrated visual experiences that invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and consider how form influences perception.
