Welcome Desk Volunteer

Welcome Desk volunteers provide quality customer service to museum guests as well as maintains museum standards and security.  Become an ambassador to a leading cultural organization in the Great Lakes Bay Region and provide an enriching experience for all museum visitors. Take attendance, tell people about museum exhibits and programs, and handle admissions.

Family Programs Volunteer

The museum provides free family programming, 2-3 times per month on Saturdays. If you like working with kids, community members, and making art, this is a great fit for you!

Field Trip Tour Guides

Under the Arts for All initiative, we can provide free field trips for K-12 students. As a tour guide, you will guide students through the museum, facilitating discussion and activities. You don’t have to be an education or arts expert. Just attend one our trainings. Trainings happen twice per year, in August and January. This is a great opportunity to inspire the next generation!

Historic Garden Volunteer

The Italianate formal gardens bloom from early spring through the fall with a variety of plants and flowers. Volunteer between April and November and help with clean-up, planting, deadheading and weeding on scheduled Saturday mornings, at your leisure, and / or through the Adopt-A-Garden program.  Master Gardeners are eligible to earn hours towards certification.

Special Events Volunteer

Seeking individuals to help with evening arts and cultural events in areas of marketing, guest registration and direction, and set-up and clean-up duties.  Three to five hours per event connects you with other people and offers rewarding perks such as access to cultural entertainment, culinary delights and refreshments, and a sense of accomplishment.
